College credits

2024-2025

Our programs Basic Speaker Spanish A1, Basic Speaker Spanish A2, Independent Speaker B1 and Independent Speaker B2 may be counted as the equivalencies of Spanish 103 (4 credits) , Spanish 104 (4 credits), Spanish 203 (3 credits) and Spanish 204 (3 credits) in many university programs.

All universities have different policies for credit transfer for programs offered abroad. If you are a student interested in college credit transfer for your time in Costa Rica please put us in contact with the person in charge of these matters in your university.

Usually the process works this way:

  1. The student must inquire about the policies of the university in regards to transfer of credits for Spanish courses offered outside of the country.
  2. The student must inform Nosara Spanish Institute of the university policy as well as provide contact information of the university staff member responsible for approving credits. The student is responsible for arranging this prior to starting their program at Nosara Spanish Institute.
  3. Upon receipt of the information, Nosara Spanish Institute will request academic credit approval to the listed staff member and will provide detailed program information and any additional documents required. Nosara Spanish Institute does not charge a fee for this service.
  4. Once the student is in Costa Rica, Nosara Spanish Institute will follow all the necessary procedures approved and required by the respective university. The student is expected to fulfill all university requirements, without exception.
